After college, at the Arthur Alex Hoogendoorn Atheneum, I successfully completed my masters degree in 2015 in law at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. Long before that, in May 2011, I joined Schurman Advocaten as a legal assistant and I am currently a trainee lawyer, which entails that by now I have gained quite some practical experience.

Under supervision of the lawyers, I  guide and support clients. I am also  very much involved in procedural disputes in various jurisdictions. My special interest is the business, contract and tenancy law.

I follow several courses at the Lawyer’s Training of the government and I expect to be sworn in as a lawyer soon.

To learn more of the the administration of justice in the international field, Schurman Advocaten offered me the opportunity to experience an international internship in two medium-sized law firms in the Netherlands.

Aside from my law studies, I have successfully completed my pilot training. I also have a passion for teaching and in this context I participate, when asked, in radio programs about law and legal matters. I am so passionate about the law that I like to do research in relevant legal issues, the result of which is then published in the Journal for Surinamese Jurists (SJB) and/or Star News.

Aside from my work at Schurman Advocaten, I love sports, especially badminton.
